Scott Akers | Director of Instruction
Scott Akers is our Director of Instruction at The Golf Academy of Dallas. His background includes working at two Top 100 Golf Courses. His teaching mentors include Top 100 Teacher Rick McCord and the late Walker Inman Jr.
Scott attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a Professional Golf Management Degree. He has been a PGA Member since 2000 and has been published eight times both in local and regional publications. He has taught over 45,000 private golf lessons. His teaching philosophy incorporates an approach on the fundamentals and he offers a complete golf experience which includes full swing, short game, putting and playing lessons. He has also been certified through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). Scott is currently instructing Texas Woman's Amateur Golf Association Champion and the Texas Legends Junior Player of the year.

Randy Beardsley | PGA Teaching Professional
Randy has been in the golf industry for 34 years including, Private, Public, and Resort facilities. He has been teaching full time for the last 8 years. Prior to those 8 years, Randy spent his time in golf operations from "Top to bottom, wearing all the hats".
His specialty is adult individual private lessons for, Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced golfers, giving up to 500 plus annually.
The highlight of Randy's golf career was working at The Four Seasons Resort and Club for 10 years, five of which serving as Tournament Director, and lead ambassador of The Salesmanship Club of Dallas during the Byron Nelson Pro-Am's from 1999 thru 2004. Ultimately receiving Manager of the Quarter in Spring of 2003.
His teaching philosophy is teaching the golf swing from impact backwards enabling the student to gain a sense of moving through impact in a forward fashion. Teaching good fundamentals that serve each individual for their specific needs and ability.
Gaining a "friend in Golf" through good customer service, and exceptional instruction is his ultimate goal for all of his students.

Clayton Derr | Operations Manager
Clayton Derr has been at Tenison Park and in the golf business for 23 years. He began as an outside services employee working his way up becoming the Operations Manager at Tenison Park, learning all the facets of the industry along the way. Clayton has studied and learned the golf swing with the help of several PGA golf professionals throughout the past 23 years including the current Tenison Park Director of Instruction, Scott Akers. Clayton believes in helping students create an easy and repeatable golf swing that is both enjoyable and productive. Jill Mcgill
Jill McGill earned her LPGA tour card in 1996. She has over 25 LPGA Top 10 finishes and is currently ranked 132 on the LPGA All-Time Career Money List. Jill recently transitioned to playing on the LPGA Legend Tour where she finished T7 in the LPGA Senior Championship in 2019.
She achieved what only a handful of people had ever done – she won both the USGA Women’s Amateur Championship as well as the USGA Women’s Public Links Championship – the two most prestigious amateur titles in all of golf.
Jill attended the University of Southern California where she was a two-time All-American and helped the team to a 4th place finish at the NCAA Championships in 1994. Jill was the first female golf player inducted into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame. She was inducted into the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame.
She is certified with the Titleist Performance Institute, Functional Movement Systems and ACE Personal Training. Jill has also been an on-course commentator for the Golf Channel, ABC, TNT, and ESPN.
Jill and her family reside in Dallas, TX. She and her husband are the proud parents of Bella 10 and Blaze 6.
