Director of Instruction - Scott Akers 

Scott Akers is our  Director of Instruction at The Golf Academy of Dallas.  His background includes working at two Top 100 Golf Courses and his teaching mentors include Top 100 Teacher Rick McCord and former Head Golf Professional Walker Inman.  
Scott attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a Professional Golf Management Degree.  He has been a PGA Member since 2000 and has been published eight times in local and regional publications.  His teaching philosophy incorporates an approach which focuses on the fundamentals from set up throughout the entire swing.  His instruction offers a complete golf experience which includes full swing, short game, putting and playing lessons.  Scott uses the TOMI putting system which provides precise information and feedback on what occurs in your putting stroke.  He has also been certified through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level One.  Please say hello to Scott the next time you practice or warm up at The Range at Tenison Park. Head PGA Professional - Randy Beardsley

Randy has been in the golf industry for 21 years, and a PGA member since 2008. Providing exceptional customer service is a routine priority. His teaching philosophy is teaching the golf swing from impact backwards, enabling the student to gain a sense of moving through impact in a forward fashion. Gaining a "friend in golf" through service and instruction is his ultimate goal for all of his students.

Head PGA Professional - Tim Stephens

Tim started playing competitive golf at the age of 15 in his hometown of Boulder, Colorado. He quickly became passionate about the game of golf and decided to turn that passion into a career. Tim then attended New Mexico State University’s Professional Golf Management program to pursue a business career in golf. During his internships in college he studied under two PGA specialty certified golf instructors. One of those instructors was the 1999 National PGA Teacher of the year, Mike McGetrick, at his golf academy located in Denver, Colorado. Since graduating from NMSU, Tim has used these skills and experiences from working in the golf academy to improve upon his student’s knowledge of the  game.
